Bringing Arnott’s Training into the Digital Era

Building a future-ready workforce: Driving digital learning across Arnott’s FCMG network.

The Challenge

Arnott’s sought to modernise the way learning was completed across its Australian & New Zealand manufacturing network by transitioning from paper-based learning to a digital model through SuccessFactors Learning.

The initiative required HumanX to bring a largely frontline, shift-based workforce into a new way of working. A major challenge was the varying levels of digital literacy across sites, with many employees having limited exposure to technology in general, let alone enterprise systems. Segments of the workforce also had English as a second language, which added another layer of complexity.

This was not just a system implementation, it was a mindset and cultural shift.

Our Solution

LMS Administration Support

HumanX provided end-to-end LMS configuration and administration support for the Learning Management System (LMS). We also identified a group of Super Users from across the business and provided training and support to this cohort to futureproof the system. Learning curricula and programs were built that aligned with operational roles and the requirements from a compliance perspective. We also established reporting frameworks to track learning completion and provide leaders with visibility.

Project Management

From the beginning of this project, HumanX partnered closely with onsite HR, IT and operational leaders to deliver a phased, low-risk rollout. Clear governance structures were established to ensure alignment across the five sites. The structured deployment roadmap provided the opportunity for iterative improvements based on learnings at each stage.

Change Management

Understanding the various levels of digital maturity, we applied a tailored change management approach. This was achieved by prioritising practical, hands-on support while equipping leaders to act as role models to reinforce the shift to digital learning. Our guiding principle was to have communications that were simple, visual and accessible.

Employee Engagement

While leaders appreciated the benefits of shifting to a digital learning platform, we also wanted learners to take ownership of their career development. Learning became accessible on the factory floor, rather than confined to ad hoc training sessions. We kept employees engaged throughout the rollout by identifying champions at each site.

The Results

Thanks to HumanX’s holistic approach to L&D projects, Arnott’s is now seeing faster deployments of new learning items across its factory workforce at scale, within days rather than weeks.

Multiple specialist departments, including compliance, safety and quality, are empowered and accountable for providing standardised, yet bespoke, training across sites.

From an employee engagement perspective, Arnott’s has experienced increased completion rates, reduced manual tracking and a greater visibility of compliance.
